140.10. Gone

Before he met Vincent, Claude had never been particularly attached to any one place as home, hadn't felt any particular sense of belonging apart from a gradually fading bond to France and Paris along with a wavering one to Senegal, fluctuating in time with his job calling him to and from - but then Vincent became a part of his life and Claude soon discovered that when he was gone (be it a day or a week or a month), he actually looked forward to returning more than the enjoyment of being away could make up for.
